PowerSurf, founded by renowned surf coach Rodrigo Machado, has grown into a globally recognized surf coaching brand. Rodrigo is widely known for his innovative surfing techniques and workout routines, developed through more than 20 years of surfing and coaching experience. He has hosted highly sought-after coaching retreats in locations such as Indonesia, Brazil, and Europe, where surfers from around the world gather to enhance their skills. However, as Rodrigo’s brand and influence continued to grow, so did the demand for his coaching services—both in-person and online.

The Problem: Building a Digital Platform for Surf Coaching

When PowerSurf first began its digital journey, Rodrigo had already created 12 video modules focused on improving flexibility, strength, and surfing techniques. These video tutorials were only available in Portuguese and hosted on a separate platform, limiting accessibility to a broader, international audience.

To meet the growing demand for online coaching, Rodrigo approached JustTrain with a vision of building a comprehensive digital platform that would allow him to deliver his unique coaching experience to surfers worldwide. The goal was to create an app that could streamline access to these training materials while enabling him to offer more value to his clients, including new mentorship opportunities, personalized feedback, and a way to onboard more coaches into his business.

The Solution: PowerSurf’s App for iOS, Android, and Web

JustTrain worked closely with Rodrigo to build and launch the PowerSurf app, available on iOS, Android, and the web. This app gave Rodrigo the ability to privately upload his 12 training modules to the cloud, making them accessible to users globally. The videos could be unlocked at specific stages of a client’s training journey, such as at the end of a coaching retreat.
